Call it recreational recycling.

A 90-foot-tall mound looms in the park's center, but it's easy to forget that it's there. More than 2 miles of trail are hidden by palms, palmettos and dozens of large oaks dripping with Spanish moss.

  1. I am trying to convince the Sarasota Board of County Commissioners not to put 205 homes on the unlined landfill at Proctor Road. I know they tried to put homes on your landfill and failed, do you have any information, facts or anything I can present to the BCC Nov 18th, 2014 - that will make them understand the dangers in building homes on a landfill?? HELP is greatly appreciated - I have a small website www.foxfirewest.com that give some information on the landfill - please let me know you got this email/posing. Thanks John Garcia
